Goals:

Design and build a residential sunporch to replace exterior stairs

• Work within local building codes
• Room enough for couches or a dinette set (~100 sqft)
• Maximize views and light since on the north side of the house
• Stairs that double as seating for outdoor gatherings

Roles:

• Draw plans in GoolgeSketchup 3D
• Act as Contractor, pull permits, manage subcontractors
• Source windows, door, interior lumber, floor tile
• Interior finish carpentry, insulation and wiring

Results:

Built in 2013

• Plans approved by Natick Building Department with only one minor comment
• All work approved by Building Inspector
