Goals:
Determine responsiveness of SmO2 from CareGuide sensors across a physiological range
- To be included in FDA 510(k) submission
- Measure untrained subjects’ thighs, varying fat thickness
- Submaximal cycling test stepped in workloads until 80% max heart rate
Roles:
- Develop testing protocol and co-author IRB protocol
- Consent patients and guide them through data collection procedure
- Tech support of CareGuide systems during studies
- Data summary and analysis, author and graphic design of poster
Results:
Successful validation study and novel scientific findings
- Validated sensor on humans for original CareGuide FDA submission
- Found a difference between non dominant and dominant leg metabolism non-invasively
- Poster presented at 2012 American College of Sports Medicine meeting
